About the event

Maiden Mother Crone invites you to the next chapter of the ReMembering Series:

"Stories From the Edge of Chaos"

We're embarking on an extraordinary journey, diving deep into the tales that challenge the fabric of our perceived reality.

This series is an exploration of those who've danced with the tumultuous tides of change and emerged with insights that redefine what we know.

This is more than history; it's a movement. Inspired by ancient wisdom, we're crafting a future through the stories we choose to remember and tell.

Second in this series, we ReMember: James Barry - The Shapeshifter

Join us for a deep dive into the life of James Barry, a remarkable figure whose journey as a Victorian transgender surgeon challenges our perceptions of identity and authenticity. In an era rigid with gender norms, James navigated the complex societal landscapes of his time, embodying the courage it takes to live authentically against conventional expectations.

James Barry's story is a profound testament to authenticity, offering a unique lens on the challenges of maintaining one's true self in a society that strictly enforced gender roles. As a military surgeon in the British army who was born Margaret Anne Bulkley, his life compels us to reassess our inherited narratives about identity, freedom, and resilience, inspiring us to embrace our own truths with similar bravery.

Mary W. Craig - historian and passionate advocate for marginalised voices from the past, will guide us through the life and times of James Barry, examining the challenges he faced and the resilience he demonstrated in his pursuit of a true self.

Dr. Rosalie Bouck - Philosopher, Archetypal Mythologist, and Practitioner of Ancestral Work with a strong background in community and union activism, will offer unique insights and perspectives to deepen our understanding of James Barry's story.

Cheryl Prince - Medium, soul activist and storyteller who is galvanised by listening to the spirits of the silenced voices of the past will shine a light on the side of James's story that has yet to be told.

Founder & Alchemist Dawn Eva Berry will guide us in transforming our individual understandings and reflections into a collective narrative, ReMembering James Barry and all that was marginalized alongside him.

Together, we'll witness his transformation, reclaiming his strength into our collective memory as a beacon of authenticity and autonomy for us all.

"The new hero's journey is a collective one."

This is your invitation to be part of a community that looks beyond the veil of history to find inspiration, meaning, and a sense of empowered belonging.

Don't miss this chance to connect with the past in a way that illuminates our path forward.

Let's discover the power of stories to transform our world together. EVENT LINK
